On Saturday February 27th, the Vols headed to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia to play the final MACC event before Nationals in the 2009-2010 season.
The Vols started strong by controlling the clock and the tempo with a victory over Virginia Tech (8-3). The team carried that same mentality along with an aggressive play-style into the second game, as UT added another victory with the final score (10-2) over Liberty.
The day’s last game saw a rematch between UT and Virginia Tech. The Vols got off to a slow start, but were able to turn a 3-3 halftime score into a (7-5) UT victory, putting the Vols at 3-0 on the day.
These victories gave UT what it needed to lock in its first ever MACC conference championship with an overall record of 8-1 on the season. The team would like to express its deep gratitude towards all those who have helped staff and support this year to help make this title possible.
After spring break, the team will resume workouts and paint practices as they prepare for Nationals. Updates will be posted weekly as the Vols prepare to take on the nation’s best college paintball teams. We are looking forward to representing Tennessee at Nationals on April 9-11!
